Chief Minister of Gibraltar since 9 December 2011.
 
Born Gibraltar 18 February 1972.  Went to school in Gibraltar and graduated in Jurisprudence from Oriel College, Oxford in 1993.  Attended the Inns of Court School Law at Gray’s Inn and was called to the Bar in 1994.  Member of the Middle Temple.
 
Picardo was a Partner in the large local firm Hassans before becoming Chief Minister.
 
Elected Leader of the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party (GSLP) in April 2011, succeeding Joe Bossano who had led the GSLP since 1976 (Chief Minister 1988-96).

Married to Justine.  One son, Sebastian Max born 15 April 2012.
