1979 - 1990 - Practitioner in Law Firm Triay & Triay, 28 Irish Town, Gibraltar.
1990 - 1995 - Partner of Law Firm Triay & Triay specialising in Commercial and Shipping Law.
1998 - Appointed Queen's Counsel for Gibraltar.
Political Career
1990 - Became a member of the Gibraltar Social Democrats and became leader of the party in February 1991.
1991 - In May 1991 he gained a seat in the House of Assembly by Winning Gibraltar's first ever-contested bye-election.
1992 - In January 1992 Mr Caruana led his party to the position of Official Opposition by winning 7 seats in the House of Assembly thereby becoming Leader of the Opposition.
1996 - In May 1996, he led his party to win the General Election and became Chief Minister.
2000 - In February 2000 he was re-elected Chief Minister
2003 - In November 2003, Mr Caruana won another four years in Office
