A Vice-Rector at Università Bocconi and Full Professor of Commercial Law, Piergaetano Marchetti was born in Milan on November 30th, 1939. He holds other corporate positions such as for Mediobanca and Assicurazioni Generali. He is one of the most important experts of Corporate Law and Law of Security Markets and Financial Markets, but his research areas also include community law, information law and law of industrial and intellectual property. He was a member of the committee for privatizations and the committee for jurists which was appointed by the Treasury Department (1997) for the preparation of a Consolidating Act for financial markets and companies quoted on the stock exchange.
