Mirko Cvetkovic
Born in Zajecar, 1950.
He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Economics where he also received his MSc and PhD.
He worked at the Mining Institute, then at the Economics Institute, after which he worked as financial advisor at the advisory and research firm CES MECON. He also worked as external consultant for the World Bank and the UNDP.
From January 2001 he was deputy minister of economy and privatisation.
From 2003 to 2004 he was director of the Privatisation Agency and afterwards, prior to being appointed minister of finance, he headed the Intercon consulting agency.
He was minister of finance from 16 May 2007. He was elected Prime Minister of Serbia on 7 July 2008. From 14 March 2011 onwards, following a reconstruction of the government, he has also performed the role of the Minister of Finance.
He has published a number of papers and articles on privatisation in Serbia and abroad.
Married, with two children. Speaks English.
